Lake Como is a great destination for lovers of water sports such as Kitesurfing and Windsurfing, also offering you the opportunity to practice these sports surrounded by nature and fantastic views.

In the northern part of the lake, the most frequent spots are Dervio, Colico and Gera Lario; further south we find Valmadrera, in the Lecco area.

In this section you will find basic information about some of the spots on Lake Como, rule #1 always ask locals when trying to go out in a new spot.

Dervio Kitesurf Spots

The kitesurf spot in Dervio (Lecco, Italy) is perfect for medium-high levels and for sessions with south and north winds.

The kitesurf spot in Dervio is located at the mouth of the Varrone River, perfect for your sessions with Breva, a characteristic thermal wind blowing from the south.

Coming from Milan, it is the first kite spot one encounters and is suitable for those who have achieved autonomy in kitesurfing. 

It should be kept in mind that it is closed for a period between June and July having to install the so-called "trestles," small mobile scaffolding used by local fishermen for the traditional Agone Fishing.

The kite area in this period is therefore always moved to Dervio next to the Porto Vecchio.

From here you can go out in both Breva (south wind) and North wind (if it is not gusty). Spot suitable for the more experienced because of the difficulty of entry and exit.

On the other hand, for those who still don't feel ready to go out in total autonomy...we are here!

Colico Kitesurf Spot

The kitesurf spot in Colico (Lecco) is a spot suitable for all levels when there is Breva.

The kitesurf spot in Colico, also called "pratone" by locals, is a spot suitable for all levels when there is Breva because in case of difficulty you can always reach the shore and walk back to the starting point.

Characterized by wide spaces and easy entry and exit thanks to the shallow water.

 

Gera Lario Kitesurf Spot

The kitesurf spot of Gera Lario (Como) is located in the northern part of the Lake, practicable by all those who have achieved a good experience with kitesurfing.

Gera Lario is still in the northern part of Lake Como but on the Como side, the kitesurf spot is located on the meadow adjacent to the mouth of the Mera River, in the Porto area.

With thermal wind from the south, Breva, the spot is practicable by everyone who has achieved a good dexterity and autonomy with kitesurfing.

Entry and exit are easy thanks to the shallow water.

Valmadrera Kitesurf Spot

The kitesurfing spot in Valmadrera (Lecco, Italy) is characterized by winds blowing from the northeast, perfect for those who enjoy morning sessions.

The spot is located at Parè harbor, a large meadow that allows you to rig your gear in comfort.

It is a spot, however, suitable for the more experienced being difficult to enter/exit the water.

Perfect for lovers of morning sessions at sunrise...so wake up very early!

In the last few years Valmadrera has become a bit of our second home, we also organize both lift service and kitesurfing lessons here, so...follow us so you don't miss the opportunity of a sunrise session in the fantastic Parè Bay.

Cremia Kitesurf Spot

The kitesurf spot in Cremia (Como) is perfect for sessions in both south and north winds.

Cremia remains on the Como shore just opposite Dervio, and here too you can go out in both Breva and North winds. 

It is not a very well known spot being somewhat hidden and is suitable for those who are self-sufficient with kitesurfing, keep in mind the small spaces for both equipment preparation and entry/exit to the water.

 

Dongo Kitesurf Spot

The kitesurf spot in Dongo (Como) is characterized by large spaces and easy entry.

This spot is located on the Como side of Lake Como, further north than Dervio.

Characterized by a large lawn for equipment preparation and ease of entry and exit.

Suitable spot for your Breva sessions.
